Over the last several days, a large flock of Cedar Waxwings have hit the street going from one property to the next devouring the berries from all fruiting plants. They have completely finished off from my holly and are working on some up the street.
I see them early when I am walking the dog and by the time I get back to the house, they are coming in for water and a bath.
Awesome Paula, I loved the video. All the berry yielding bushes in our yard seem to be stripped of their berries already. Guess we won't be seeing the waxwings for a time. Unusual most winters the berries are there until spring.
Between the robins and the waxwings this week, there won't be a berry left on anything along the street in a few days. I have really enjoyed seeing the Waxwings however.
Love those birds but have never seen them here in NC. I have a friend in Goldsboro that has seen them fairly frequently. Maybe they do not like the coast. I was noticing that most of the berries on the holly bushes are gone but I never saw any birds eating them. Must have been the little birds. Thanks for sharing your photos of these pretty birds.
