Grackles

They are obnoxious, loud, sneaky and their beak looks too large.  The only positive thing to say about them is that when you catch them in just the right light, the colors refracting off their feathers can be quite pretty.

Thankfully they don't seem to hang around too long.  I usually have them for only a short time in the spring and again a short time in the fall.

I posted one on FB with those brilliant colors last week. Even though they are pests, you can't help but take a photo when the sun lights them up like that.

I caught myself sort of laughing as I was taking the photo, but like you said, it is just sort of irresistible to see if you can capture those colors. Surprised you didn't post to your blog.

Paula, I post a lot of stuff to FB that I don't put on the blog. Some of it, I put on both. Just seems that posting to FB is often easier when I am being lazy. *grin*
