Feeding Behavior - The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good - When you can get along with others, everyone eats

The Bad - The standoff and no one eats (amazingly the Downy won this round)

The Ugly - The bully and only he eats (or she)

That last bird looks very much like the English Jackdaw.
The bully boys we have in our garden however, are huge numbers of starlings, who roost at a nearby nature reserve. I swear they spend more time shrieking, squabbling and chasing smaller birds away, than they do feeding.

We too have a large number of European Starlings that act the same way. The bird on the feeder that looks like your English Jackdaw is a Common Grackle and they are indeed bully birds. Not fond of when they come to visit. Looks like from your posts that you too are having a bit of winter weather. Stay warm. Spring will soon arrive.
